Performance Artist Hangs Like A Shark
Wildlife — By Amy on November 23, 2008 at 7:43 amToday I have a short video for you. It’s the story of performance artist Alice Newstead, who hung in a London shop window with shark hooks in her back. She has partnered with LUSH and The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, to raise awareness and stop the brutal practice of shark finning and other forms of shark slaughter.
As pointed out in the video (and as you may already know), sharks are primarily killed for their fins. They are caught, their fins are brutally chopped off, and they are thrown back into the ocean where they drift to the bottom and die a slow and painful death.
