My 8-year old son just came into our kitchen to tell me about the latest Earth Day DisneyNature film release: African Cats. Its our annual tradition to see these amazing wildlife movies on Earth Day each year (April 22). Since we particularly love cats, our family is especially excited to see African Cats this year.
DisneyNature has released stunning, moving nature documentaries each year on Earth Day since 2009. Starting with “Earth” the Movie, then following up with “Oceans,” these films serve to remind us that we are but one species on this great blue marble. Heartwarming stories of family and survival thrill audiences of all ages.
Is it any wonder that people are eagerly awaiting this year’s Earth Day DisneyNature’s film release?
If you are planning on celebrating Earth Day with a visit to the cineplex to catch DisneyNature’s latest film, consider this:
Disneynature is collaborating with the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) to celebrate the Earth Day 2011 release of “African Cats,” with a special program. When you see African Cats, you can help save the Savanna during the film’s opening week (April 22-28). A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the AWF through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to help preserve habitat for African cats, as well as other wildlife in the savanna. Specifically, funds raised will be used by the AWF to protect the Amboseli Wildlife Corridor, a passage between the Amboseli, Tsavo West and Chyulu National Parks, that is frequently used by a variety of wildlife.
