Palin Pumpkins

Now that the air is turning cooler and the days a bit shorter, its hard to deny that fall is here! My children love Halloween – probably in part because my oldest son’s birthday is October 31. I’ve been wondering what costumes to buy my four kids this year. With the election season upon us as well, I recall hearing about how Sarah Palin said that she dressed up as Tina Fey one year! Just a bit ironic now, don’t you think?

Although my husband and I are usually opposites on the political spectrum, we figure that our children will have a balanced view-point with respect to politics. But the influence of the media is far-reaching. Just this morning, my nearly 11-year old son suggested that we carve a Palin Pumpkin for our door-step in October. I didn’t dare ask him what shade of lipstick to apply….
