I do 30, do you?

Meet adorable one-year old Malou in the video below.  She’s a true climate warrior, helping to spread the word about the “I do 30,” campaign.

Originating in Denmark, “I do 30,” helps show people how much energy and CO2 they can save by using a cold water wash, instead of laundering clothes at the usual 60 degree Celsius temperature.  The campaign was started by Novozymes, a company that produces enzymes that make it possible to wash at lower temperatures – say, 30 degrees C!

Its very easy – and free – to join the 10,000 other people that are part of the campaign.  But, before you do so, watch cute little Malou in this video.  She’ll show you how, and why, we should all take small steps to reduce our CO2 emissions.

Washing in cold water is an easy thing to do, with a large climate pay-off.  Heating water for laundry is one of the most energy-consuming activities of the household.  Of course, in order to heat the water, you need electricity, which often comes from CO2 emitting sources, like coal.

Want to join the “I do 3o” movement and help Malou with her cause?  How can you say no to that precious face?

Just click here to go to the Facebook page and become a fan of I do 30.  Then, start washing in cold water to reduce CO2 emissions!

  1. Oh my gosh – she is adorable! And a great cause at that. We always wash on the cold cycle…don’t even both with the others.

Isn’t she precious? We always wash in cold too. There are great detergents out there that make it easy to do so. :)

    Hello Peachy Green

Thank you so mush for spreading the word about I do 30 on your very cool blog! We really appreciate it and hope that all your readers will have a look at the adorable girl in the video and let her persuade them into joining the I do 30 group on Facebook. We need all the help we can get to gather as many people as possible before the Climate Conference in Copenhagen in December where we will present the world’s leaders with all the supporters of the campaign to show them that we mean business ☺

Thank you again and big kudos to your blog.
