Brain Station Helps Kids Go Green
Green kids — By Amy on November 2, 2008 at 10:46 amA new website has popped up to help our kids go green. Brain Station is a mutilmedia site where kids can have fun while learning about energy issues like safety and conservation. It’s a fun, colorful site that offers games, downloadable lesson plans for teachers, coloring pages for young children, a scouts section and an extensive history of energy for older students.
My kids are always looking for fun new games and Brain Station didn’t let them down. They can Battle Count Zapula in the Hazards of Voltageville or build their safety skills playing Shock Blocker. The Going Green section offers easy to remember suggestions for helping the planet and conserving energy.
It also includes a career section that outlines possible career paths for high school students considering a career in energy.
“As a high school teacher, I enjoyed the careers section – I was informed of internships that I can be talking to my students about. There is so much great information about so many topics.” A Mason High School Teacher
The site is sponsored by Consumers Energy of Michigan.
