Where in the World is Peachy Green?

I’m still pinching myself about this opportunity.

I haven’t mentioned it yet here on Peachy Green, but I was approached several weeks ago about an exciting project to explore eco-friendly resorts in an exotic location.  Of course, it was so enticing that I had to say yes!

Today, I started my journey halfway around the globe.  I will be crossing 6 times zones, the equator, and the International Date Line.

So where in the world is Peachy Green?

Here’s a hint – see the photo below to the right.

No…. I’m not at Starbucks (though that’s where I took this shot)!

Experience Fiji from the islands... not Starbucks!

By the time you read this post, I’ll be boarding a flight to the Fiji Islands!

Tourism Fiji is bringing a number of bloggers to the South Pacific to explore, write about and take photographs of the resorts and experiences offered in Fiji.  Perhaps not surprisingly, I will be writing about green travel as part of the FijiMe Tour.

My first stop will be at the Matava Fiji’s Premier Eco Resort on Kadavu island.  After three days at this green resort, I’ll be heading to Nadi, on the main island of Fiji, where I’ll be staying a few more nights at the Hideaway Resort, Coral Coast.

On my last full day in Fiji, I will experience the Kula Bird Eco Park and stay a day at Sonaisali Island Resort.

I am still fairly in the dark about the itinerary, but suffice it to say, I’ll be sharing all the wonderful experiences with you readers, through cool green travel posts straight from the FijiMe Tour!

I’ll include lots of photographs and enticing videos.  It will almost be like you are right there with me.  Almost.

(when will you be booking your trip to Fiji?)

Isn’t flying half way around the world for a green vacation an oxymoron? No matter how “green” the resort, this is not a Green vacation. Don’t let yourself be bought out. I will not be “booking my trip to Fiji.”

    Jeff,

No matter where you travel, until we switch to solar-powered vehicles – cars, planes, boats – we’ll be leaving a carbon footprint. Thankfully, eco-conscious people can purchase carbon offsets for their travels. Personally, I’m glad that resort owners in Fiji are taking steps to minimize the impact on the beautiful environment here by incorporating energy-saving and other green measures at the properties here. I’d like to see more resorts world-wide do the same thing.
