When Vegan Shoes Went Chic

Simply elegant vegan shoe by Olsenhaus
For as long as I can remember, the image of the vegan and their shoes has been the same. Do all vegans want to wear practical shoes? Is that why so few designers jumped on the vegan train to create cruelty-free footwear? Less than 5 years ago, the choices were so slim, that vegan boots and shoes had to be special ordered online only.
And it wasn’t pretty. I should say, the shoes weren’t pretty. Not even close. The choices were cloggish looking and rubbery.
Those days are gone! Looks at this beautiful line of shoes and boots from Olsenhaus!

Vegan Shoes from Olsenhaus' Fall Collection
“Olsenhaus works to change the face of what a vegan person looks like,” Olsen says. “It is not the ’60s; it is hip and stylish to be knowledgeable about what is going on, and to work to make a difference without sacrifices. It is all about style, truth, and the shift in consciousness to a new luxury.”
I like what they have to say here. I’m not sure my vegan friends would suddenly take on shoe shopping as a hobby even if the shoes were gorgeous – and they are. The truth is they are so aware of their impact on the planet, they will likely choose a pair – very carefully – and look terrific wearing them for a long time to come.
All I have to say is thank you. Thank you Olsenhaus for saving us from the clogs, birks and rubbery boots of the past and bringing the vegan image into this century with style and quality.
I love it. I’ll take a pair of these with the pink heals please.

Finally, vegan shoes can be stylish!
