Just as Mixx.com was sweeping up the confetti from its last party a few weeks ago, it has now made huge Alexa ranking strides worth another celebration! Mixx is at 791 Alexa, below the 800 mark! This means that Mixx is well in the top 800 websites on the entire world wide web. I am astounded at the quick progress Mixx has made to get to such a high ranking.

If you want to join Mixx, it is super easy. Mixx is a fast-growing social networking site. You’ll find many fun, friendly users there who can read, vote up and comment on stories you submit. Or, just browse many other sites, videos or photos submitted by other Mixxers. Simple as that!
Mixx has a blog at which you can get regular updates about the site, new features and breaking news. Just this week, Mixx announced the following improvements:
1. Moving Notifications from email to Site Mail: Our top vote earner, on-site notifications allow you to get notifications like “You have a new friend!” right on Mixx. Then we’ll give you a little nag—just once a day—so you can check in. We don’t want you to miss out on any notifications. If you are currently getting notifications in email, you’ll need to go to your settings page and tweak the settings just the way you want them.
2. Improved Friend-ing: The second favorite suggested feature, the upgraded Friend feature makes it easy to see which of your friends are mutual and which only go one way. Check out your fans (go to www.mixx.com/users/<yourMixxID>/fans) and friend them back!
3. Show All Mixxers: This is a really cool little feature that will let you see every Mixxer who voted on a story, photo or video.

Alexa is a very important benchmark to determine the rankings and traffic of sites. Google is placed at the 2nd position as per Alexa rankings and traffic rankings and is facing tough competition from Live.com and of course Yahoo.
