Shop Organic for EcoUnit Credits

Help the environment when you shop, with EcoUnit credits
When you visit Ray’s Food Place, you have several reasons to shop organic: concern for the environment, a desire for a healthy lifestyle and… the ability to earn EcoUnit credits.
EcoUnit is a shoppers reward program launched in Central Oregon at Ray’s this year. Yet, you don’t have to live here to make a difference!
Check out the EcoUnit website for more information on how to sign up your business to participate:
EcoUnit’s mission is to connect companies with eco-aware consumers in order to accelerate the introduction of more sustainable products and services. By rewarding participating consumers with EcoUnit credits, we also enable individuals to embrace the environment as a cause. Companies are simple: they want to sell products to consumers. But consumers are multi-dimensional, and how environmental and sustainability issues impact their buying decisions varies by person, place, and priorities. EcoUnit gives a voice to the consumer in order to help companies develop more environmentally-friendly, more sustainable products and services.
But getting back to Central Oregon…. From now until the end of the year (December 31, 2009), purchases of Organic Valley products from Ray’s can entitle you to EcoUnit credits – 10 for a single item, and 25 for two or more. With your credits, you can register to support local environmental projects like the restoration of the Deschutes River Basin, through the EcoCredit website.
If this sounds like an appealing program for your business or region, check out the EcoCredit blog for more information.
Helping the environment by choosing organic, and also supporting local eco-projects – what a fresh way to turn consumerism on its head.

This is a really good idea. They have rewards programs with all sorts of themes, why not one based on supporting our life-support system?
Thanks David,
I totally agree! Let’s get the Eco-Unit system going in more locations!
I love it – simple, yet something that I’m sure many consumers (and hopefully businesses too) could really get behind!
I know, Tara – it seems like a wonderfully easy concept!
Thank you for writing about the EcoUnit program! We’re excited to see Oregonians taking up the cause. We plan to run more promotions with companies like Ray’s Food Place and Organic Valley, and we really appreciate your help in getting the word out!

Hi Kent,
Thank you for visiting our site, and congratulations on a great program! For me, its one more reason to shop at Ray’s Food Place. I am a big supporter of the programs that can be helped through EcoUnit credits.
Good luck, and drop me a line when the program expands! Stephanie
A very cool, idea! It’s a win/win situation for everyone.
Congrats to Ray’s Food Place for coming up with this!
