Will you participate in Buy Nothing Day 2009?
Mark your calendar! November 27, 2009 is Buy Nothing Day. Yes, I’m aware that it’s Black Friday. I know that the sales will be amazing. I won’t be participating. Will you join me and others all over the planet by spending your day doing something – anything -other than consuming?
You can’t buy anything. Nothing. Nada. Find a better way to spend your time. Save your money. Reduce consumption and make a statement by buying nothing on of the busiest shopping day of the year.
Come on, you can do it. I’m going to do it. I don’t care how good the sales are at my favorite stores. Do I really need what they are selling? Really?
So please join us here at Peachy Green and at Buy Nothing Day to reduce your consumption of goods, for just this one day. Plan a hike with friends. Snuggle up with a good book in front of the fire with your dog. Go work off some of that Thanksgiving meal you so thoroughly enjoyed. Just don’t hit the mall!

Ugh, the mall on Black Friday, I can’t think of anywhere I’d less like to be. I might just be tempted to buy a book online – haven’t bought any books for months – we’ll see.

I am there with you for the buy nothing day! I will not be out doing any shopping at all, instead we have planned a day with the children.

I am totally with you! We’ll be spending a fun day with the kids – hopefully outdoors! The long weekend should be spent with family – not strangers at the shopping mall. Take care, and keep on stopping by,

I went grocery shopping today to prepare for Thanksgiving. The mobs just about did me in. Count me out! I think your idea of curling up with a book is lovely!
