  17. Dear Website Administrator:

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has learned that your company is using an out-of-date ENERGY STAR® logo on one of your organization’s web pages under the peachygreen.com domain. Specifically, the page can be found at: http://www.peachygreen.com/going-green/working-off-the-waste-national-building-competition. You can replace the outdated logo with a current ENERGY STAR logo by visiting http://www.energystar.gov/logos, where you are able to download the ENERGY STAR logo for free.

The ENERGY STAR name and logo are registered marks belonging to the United States Government. In fairness to all participants and companies, we must ensure that the logo is used correctly to protect the integrity of the mark and the program it represents. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. However, if your organization continues to use our name and/or mark improperly, legal action may be taken.

Through the Spirit of Innovation Awards (http://www.conradawards.org/), high school students with a passion for science and bettering the world have a chance to patent their inventions, be interviewed in Popular Science Magazine or BBC World News, or even attend the Annual White House Science Fair and be recognized by President Obama.

The Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Awards (SoIA) is an international, multi-disciplinary program that combines the Foundation’s commitment to five core principles: innovation, education, entrepreneurship, project-based learning, and community engagement to advance achievement in science, technology, education and math in U.S. schools.

SoIA presents student participants with a very broad challenge: create an innovative product that can be used to address a real-world problem with a real-world solution that can ultimately be viable in the commercial marketplace. Students are given a blank slate within several major categories, including clean energy, aerospace exploration, clean water, agro science, and cyber security. They’re also required to conduct research to determine their creation’s potential market impact, and develop a full business plan while working with mentors including world-class scientists, engineers, academics, and business leaders.

Through entering the Wild Card Summit Invitation sweepstakes, everyone can have a chance to attend the Innovation Summit at NASA from April 28 – May 1, 2011 in San Francisco, where they can make their innovative dream a reality.

The opportunity closes on February 28, 2011.

We would like you to extend this exciting opportunity to your readers before it’s too late. If you would like to feature this opportunity on your blog or if you need more information regarding the Conrad Foundation or the Spirit of Innnovation Awards, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  20. Dear Stephanie,

I have recently visited your site and wanted to get in touch as i work for the website OilPrice.com and was hoping to speak about the information you are currently showing.

Our team has spent the last 3 months creating some excellent free Alternative widgets and after looking at your content and style our designers think they would be a great fit for you.
(There is no charge for using them and at present there is nothing else like them available.)

The Free widgets cover Solar Energy, Wind Power, Nuclear, Hydroelectric, Ethanol & Geothermal. We also have other widgets that cover fossil fuels, such as Crude oil and Nat Gas.

All widgets are interactive and are constantly moving – which adds to their interest and value to visitors. They are superbly designed and the data provided would normally be very difficult to obtain and especially difficult to package into meaningful charts and graphs.

To see what we have please take a look at: http://oilprice.com/free-widgets.html

    The widgets focus on:

Alternative energy production (by method: Solar, wind, hydro, etc..)
Worldwide energy consumption (by country – figures updated every second)
Worldwide energy production (Solar, Wind, Hydro, Geothermal, Ethanol, Crude oil, etc.. updated every second.)

Installation is incredibly easy as you just take the code by the side of the widget and paste it into your site. There is also an installation guide to the right of the screen.

Hopefully you’ll find them interesting and valuable – and if you have any questions, problems or would like us to tailor make one for you please do let us know how we can help you.

    Best regards,

  31. Hi,

As a social media marketing expert, I have reviewed peachygreen.com and noticed there wasn’t a Facebook page available. With the current traffic on your website, we can help create a custom fan page as well as connect it with our social auction platform, LikeBids.com to get more users and a big volume of targeted fans.

LikeBids allows you to post social auctions of things that will entice your current users on your website, which will incent them to share it with their friends using Facebook “Likes” as the collateral to win. The user who gets the most Facebook Likes in your auction(s) will win the prize as well as discounts you’re giving away free. We are allowing new vendors this month to start their campaign with our social promotion platform LikeBids.com, free.

Here is a quick video about how LikeBids works: http://vimeo.com/21312996?ab

To sign up as a vendor, click here: http://likebids.com/pages/auction_vendors

Essentially, this will will exponentially increase your exposure on facebook and traffic on your website as you’re turning your current fans and users into your own social media marketing team. To reach out to us directly, please contact Eric Mitchell, 347.831.5344, eric@likebids.com

    Dear Sir or Madam:

On April 21, Telemark, Inc., a company who builds and renovates “green” houses, on Long Island, issued a press release that states that Telemark is the first contractor in the Hamptons to achieve accreditaton by the Building Performance Institute. The release is below. Do you want to interview a Telemark executive? If so, please email or call me. My number is 312-943-1100.

Hamptons Luxury Homes’ Telemark Subsidiary Becomes first Building Performance Institute Accredited Contractor in the Hamptons

Bridgehampton, NY (April 21, 2011) – Telemark, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hamptons Luxury Homes (HLXH.PK), today announced that it has achieved Building Performance Institute (BPI) accreditation and is the first contractor in the Hamptons to achieve this accreditation.

Frank Dalene, President of Telemark, Inc., made the announcement noting: “Hamptons Luxury Homes and its subsidiaries are national leaders in the construction industry in terms of our commitment to and expertise in the areas of green-building and energy-efficient performance. We use the latest technologies to enable our clients to achieve old fashioned savings.”

BPI is a nationally recognized program that seeks to improve the energy efficiency, comfort, and safety of existing homes. “We establish goals for a client’s home, perform various tests for energy loss and then provide an analysis of the potential cost savings that can be achieved based on the recommendations that we make,” Dalene stated.

Among the services that Telemark provides to its clients in the Hamptons are:
    · The Telemark Home Energy Audit whereby a Telemark BPI certified professional conducts a Comprehensive Home Assessment to gauge the home’s current performance. Based upon the findings of this audit, specific performance goals are established and specific recommendations are made to achieve energy cost savings. Telemark goes one step further by supplying an estimate for any work required along with the corresponding energy savings. The home assessment consists of several items including blower door and draft tests to calculate air exchange and identify areas of heating and cooling loss; infrared imaging to verify hot and cold spots as well as insulation air leeks; combustion analyzers and relative humidity sensors to determine the indoor air quality and combustion safety tests to ensure that the area where the boiler and furnace are located is ideal for efficient and safe fuel combustion.
    · Telemark Service & Maintenance works directly with an estate caretaker or staff or directly with the homeowner to improve the energy efficiency, comfort, durability and safety of each home. Whether the owner lives in the home year-round or only on a seasonal basis, Telemark is able to provide 24/7 services allowing for additional inspections of the home in the event of inclement weather.
    · Telemark House Watch is a service whereby Telemark is able to inspect a house on a regular basis to detect minor issues before they become major, costly problems. Weekly inspections ensure that one’s house is operating as efficiently as possible.
    · Telemark Annual Assessment is a service in which each year the Company’s BPI-certified professionals test and provide a report on the performance of all of the property’s energy areas annually thereby providing a yearly-comparison that can show maintenance items that may be considered capital improvements to the properties. In addition, this annual assessment enables the performance of all the property’s sub-contractors to be reviewed so that the owner can be assured of competitive prices and outstanding workmanship.
Hamptons Luxury Homes and its subsidiaries are national leaders in the construction industry by becoming carbon neutral two consecutive years with a commitment to continue doing so in the future. As a result of this and awards received for green building projects, including the HGA House on Long island, the company is at the forefront of green building in the New York area. The company demonstrated this commitment to sustainable building more than three years ago when it was one of the founding members of the Hamptons Green Alliance (www.hamptonsgreenalliance.org) a consortium of contractors and tradesmen in the Hamptons committed to “green” building practices.

    About Hamptons Luxury Homes

    Hi Peachygreen,

Food sampling has been remastered with the help of Peggy Cross, creator and designer of the EcoTaster Mini by EcoTensil – an eco-friendly, compostable tasting spoon made from smooth paperboard.

By using less material than other disposable spoons, the EcoTaster weighs less, and takes up only a fifth of the space that other plastic and bio-plastic utensils do. This makes for easy transport and storage. Plus, the EcoTasters stack up neatly for self-dispensing!

A simple pinch turns this utensil into a fun-folding taste tester – ideal for in-store events, catering and product sampling.

And just because the EcoTaster is environmentally friendly, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work as well (or better) than regular spoons. With a larger tasting area, the EcoTaster leaves plenty of room for a more fulfilling, satisfying bite.

It only takes 2-5 weeks for the EcoTaster Mini to fully decompose in a home composting bin! Bio-plastic utensils, however, may take up to 6 months to fully decompose and need very specific conditions to break down. Many aren’t compostable in commercial composting facilities.

Both affordable and efficient, this product no longer makes cost and sustainability a trade-off.

Would you be interested in featuring EcoTasters on your blog?

Let me know if you’d like samples or more info!

    Thanks!

currently the bureau of land management under ken salazar is on a death march to round up all our wild horses, sterlize them and put them in holding pens, off the 26 million acres that was allocated to them in the prior wild horse act – blm then turns around and leases the land for oil drilling and cattle ranchers – these are your public lands – if you want to know what many horse people across america are trying to do save our wild horses – barely 10,000 left in the wild please go to http://www.thecloudfoundation.org -ginger kathrens is the ownder and has done 3 videos for pbs on cloud a wild stallion in montana that is going to be destined for rounding up again by the blm – help save our wild horses

    Hi Stephanie, Roberta and Amy,

I found yesterday’s USA Today article, “’Solar-coaster’ hits as sun sets on federal subsidies” quite interesting and wondered what your opinion was… As energy historian Daniel Yergin said in the article, “Even with subsidies decreasing, I don’t expect the solar industry to wither as it did in the 1980s when it entered the “Valley of Death.” Today, this is really global business. … This is not game over.”

On the flip side, are you hearing any rumblings about companies that can safe harbor funds? I know that a new organization called Sol Haven Fund provides financing for solar PV projects for nonprofits and tax-exempt entities. With the 1603 Federal ITC Grant program expiring in 87 days, any qualifying project that has not been funded will have missed this opportunity. I understand Sol Haven offers nonprofits and tax-exempt entities a way to safe harbor solar PV projects so they can move forward even if the deadline passes, ensuring their projects become a reality, and that adequate time is available for proper planning and execution. Have you heard about this fund?
    Cheers,
    Phyllis
