It seems paper towels can be recycled if you simply allow them to dry and put them in with your paper recycling. After all, it’s just paper, isn’t it?

If they are too dirty, just toss them into your composting. The worms love it.

Lovely images. I feel fortunate to be an Oregonian and have professional opportunity to improve our natural habitats every day. While I don’t measure carbon, I do measure our positive environmental impacts via acres of water and populations of rare aquatic plants and animals we affect.

In my own several decades in corporate America, I’ve experienced the waxing and waning of the claimed necessity of “face time” at the office. I totally agree that we could replace at least one day a week of casual dress with a work remotely day. Whether we give it a cute moniker like “telecommute Tuesday,” or simply encourage the practice across the board, there is more than one way to save green by working from home!

What a marvelous idea! A decade ago, it was already recognized that the clubby atmosphere of the corporate office was counterproductive. The internet was supposed to allow the majority of employees to work from home and do away with unnecessary business travel. But old, albeit unproductive, ways die hard. Ideally, Corporate America should substitute a weekly Work Remotely Day for Casual Friday, thereby eliminating 52 days of business travel (ground and air) instead of one. Imagine the impact *that* would make on carbon emissions!
